IF YOU'RE NOT USING GOOGLE ADS YOUR BUSINESS IS SCREWED

I Recently Got Certified By Google And I'm Starting To Understand

If you have been posting daily to all the social media platforms hoping to get customers flooding your DMs or booking on your website with little to no results, then you are going to want to read this article. Stick around.

The reality is posting alone is not going to cut it, and I’m not saying you should stop posting all together, but posting should really be supplementary, the faster small businesses realize this, the faster they are going to actually start to see returns. I’m going to tell you why.

Instagram for example.

Thanks to some of the latest updates made to Instagram, your posts are only shown to about 10% of your following, so how many followers do you have right now? 100? 500? 1000? Let's say you have 1000 followers, only around 100 of those people are likely to see your post, and it’s not guaranteed, and then, you still have to think about how many of those 100 people are actually going to take action.

Let’s look at Facebook. The average organic reach for a Facebook business page is around 6%. So out of every 100 people, 6 are likely to see your post, although, this number may be affected a little more positively based on things like likes, comments and shares. But overall, unless you have some viral post that just goes crazy, it’s not likely that you are going to be getting much traction, and when you think about the fact that, every time you post, it is basically going to the same people over and over, you can start to see that, you are only going to be burning yourself out and eventually you may give-up.

Now, we could look at other platforms such as YouTube, Tik Tok etc.…But the fact of the matter is they are mostly the same. If you are serious about generating sales in your business and actualizing the results you envisioned in your business, then, let’s take a look at one of the most effective things you can do to start generating income.

LETS DISCUSS GOOGLE ADS, FORMERLY KNOWN AS GOOGLE ADWORDS.

Google ads is an online advertising platform created by Google. It allows advertisers, in this case you, and your small business, to place ads on Google's search engine results pages otherwise called (SERPs) and even on other websites that are part of Google's Display Network.

The most popular search engine worldwide is Google, HANDS DOWN. Google has over 80% - 90% market share.

This is why google is so powerful. When you advertise on Google, you have the potential to reach a massive audience. By targeting specific keywords and demographics, you can get your ads in front of people who are actively searching for products or services like yours. The keyword here is actively, and this is where google ads triumph in my opinion over Facebook ads.

When customers see an ad on Facebook, they are most likely not actively searching for your product or service, and therefore they are less likely to take action, however, when a customer is looking to know something to do something to locate something or most importantly to purchase something, more than likely they are going to search on google. When your ad shows up when they search, you stand the highest chance of having them click on your ad, visit your store and purchase your product or service.

I am google search ads certified and while going through my training, I realized that google was much more than just it’s search engine.

Google also has a Display Network that includes over two million websites and reaches over 90% of internet users worldwide. This gives you even more opportunities to get your message in front of potential customers.

Google Ads can target specific audiences which gives advertisers like you a huge advantage. You can literally tailor ads to different demographics, including age, gender, location, interests, and more. This allows your ads to only be shown to people who are likely to be interested in what you're offering. Another thing is, by targeting specific keywords, your ads are only shown to people who are searching for those keywords, which makes your ad more likely to be relevant to the searcher's needs, which increases the likelihood that they'll click on your ad.

It is a cost-effective platform. The fact that you only pay when someone clicks on your ad is also great, since, by you targeting the right keywords and also including negative keywords, you're only paying for people who are interested in your product or service, which is different from traditional advertising methods, such as print or television ads, where you pay a flat fee regardless of how many people see your ad.

You can also set a budget for your ads and adjust it as needed, so you have complete control over how much you're spending on advertising, and you can ensure that you're not overspending on your marketing budget.

Google ads make it easy to measure your results, you can track how many people click on your ad, how many people convert (i.e., take the desired action on your website), and how much each conversion costs, isn’t that dope? This allows you to see exactly how effective your ads are and make adjustments as needed.

There is so much flexibility on the google ads platform. Remember I told you google is not just about its search engine, well you don’t have to create only text ads, you can also create image ads, or even video ads that shows up on other platforms like YouTube. Just think about creating one ad and have it go to many platforms and in many different formats. You can also create ads that are specific to different devices, such as mobile phones or desktop computers.

The platform allows you to create and adjust your ads in real-time and make changes to your ad campaign as needed. This flexibility allows you to optimize your ads for maximum effectiveness and ensure that you're getting the best possible return on investment (ROI).

If you want to have a competitive advantage over other businesses in your industry, Google Ads is arguably the most effective strategy you can employ in your business right this moment.

There are hundreds of customers searching for your product or service right now, why not put yourself in front of them and give yourself a real chance of gaining new customers that you can retarget and have them become lifelong customers of yours.

You owe it to yourself to have a successful business and just posting alone is not going to make that happen. The platforms are designed for you to invest in advertising to reach the people who are going to spend money in your business.

Like I always say, entrepreneurship is hard, but the most important thing you need to know is that it’s doable.

Until next time
